Windsurfing On Grants Lagoon

There are a variety of activities that can be undertaken when visiting Binalong Bay and the Bay Of Fires. Activities include surfing, diving, boating (power boating and sailing), walking, bicycle riding, horse riding, four wheel driving, snorkelling, sun bathing, canoeing, photography, landscape painting, water skiing, fishing, game fishing, surf fishing, bird watching (twitching), body boarding, hiking and camping.

The main areas for participating in water based activities in Binalong Bay are Grants Lagoon and the Binalong Bay beach. Grants Lagoon is located directly behind the main beach in Binalong Bay and is perfectly suited to activities such as windsurfing, canoeing, fishing, photography, walking and swimming.

The Binalong Bay beach and the many bays, gulches and inlets around the Bay of Fires provide excellent places to relax in the summer or winter sun, enjoy and game of beach cricket, build a sand castle, surf, fish, body board or swim.

There are a number of recreational companies either based in Binalong Bay or St Helens, they provide a variety of canoeing, diving, four wheel driving, bicycling, bush walking and associated activities.

Binalong Bay

Binalong Bay is a small coastal town, a 15 minute drive from St Helens and a 2.5 hours drive from Launceston.

A popular place to visit and a holiday destination for many Tasmanians, mainlanders and international visitors alike, there are approximately 200 shacks and some 100 permanent residents, who have either retired there or have settled into a relaxing lifestyle, combining both work and leisure.
